US & the natural environment

Another key to compliance is the natural conscience that we have developed to be environmentally sensitive, day in and day out. MCSB realizes that for us to tap into the future of tomorrow, it will require conscientious grounds to be built today at the office, the port, and offshore.

It's a three-pronged approach that involves acknowledgement, identification, and participation to circumvent the effects and impacts of the maritime industry on the environment and climate to co-exist. The operative word here is sustainability, which is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN.

First: MCSB believes that the sustainable undertaking of the maritime and shipping industry is important. Acknowledging it is pivotal. The World Commission on Environment and Development in 1987 defined sustainability in the context that "Humanity has the ability to make development sustainable to ensure that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs." It means a working boundary needs to be in place to co-exist with the natural environment. Such a boundary requires adapting the configuration of maritime services amid climate change challenges.

Second: As we grow as a business entity in the industry, we identify the types of environmental risks we need to adapt to improve our sustainable footprint. We conduct every service with due diligence that involves pre-assessment of a particular project. Our involvement in any project begins with thorough investigation to identify the effects and impacts of the project after we acknowledge the surrounding issues.

Third: We take part in finding the right solutions on a case-by-case basis for our clients. Our compliance symbolizes our commitment to do things right. It also informs the support that we build from the governmental levels to the collaborative endeavors we have with private sectors in delivering the best services. We redefine the processes of today for a better tomorrow. The list of our services attests to this idealization as we continue to explore the industry's potential for a sustainable maritime economy.
